The North Pacific
Region including the Nicoya Peninsula is Costa Rica's hottest and driest
zone. The rainy season starts later and ends earlier here, and overall it's
more dependably sunny in this region than in other parts of the country.
Many beautiful beaches are located here as well as huge cattle ranches. The
Palo Verde, Santa Rosa
and Rincon de la
Vieja National Parks protect large areas of tropical dry
forests where trees drop their leaves during the dry season and start
flowering. The rainy months are from May through October, even though there
is a small period when the rain ceases; this is called "Veranillo de
San Juan- The dry season comes between December and March. The rainfall
increases from 1.400 mm
to 2.500 mm
in the mountains in the beginning and the end of the year. The wind
direction is from east and northeast during the dry season. June, September
and October are the most humid and rainy months.
Located in one of the most virgin and beautiful regions of Costa Rica, at the Nicoya Península, is ESENCIA Hotel.
Only a few steps away from Santa Teresa Beach at Malpaís, known as "the stars' beach", due to the fact, that it was recently visited by artists and famous prominent persons, you will find these 10 spacious villas. This beautiful white sand beach, offers a spectacular landscape and very good waves, which has made it to a favourite among surfers. Each villa has either 1 or 2 bedrooms and are fully equipped with living - dining room, kitchen and corresponding implements.
They all have own bathroom, hot water, safety box and A/C.
The architecture of the units contains elements of Mediterranean style, such as the beds and banks which are concrete elements poured on site and the ondulated roof tiles. They differentiate through theme colours, handcrafted aromatic candles, and incense and essences, to stimulate our guests staying there.
Other exquisite elements are the teak chairs, and the furniture and deck of the villa made out of precious woods.
Part of the hotel infrastructure is its pool in irregular form, covered with blue ceramic tiles, and a terrace for sunbathing. In a picturesque ranch, there are located some fitness machines.
Artistic gardens with a collection of palm trees and tropical plants exhibit colourful flowers and low indirect lighting at all public areas.
Even tough the hotel does not feature an own restaurant, during day time a snack bar will be operation, offering a selection of drinks and a menu of light meals. In any case in the immediate neighbourhood of the hotel you will find a big offer of bars and restaurants.

boutique hotel built in 2004, located in the south of the Nicoya Peninsula, near Mal Pais. It is a

the Pacific Ocean and an inland river
